Welcome to Omega Dawn, a sci-fi roleplaying adventure with endless possibilities. We here at Omega Dawn like to pride ourselves in our creativity and our respect for other roleplayers. Below are a few rules that we ask all our players, including the Administration Staff, follow. They're simple rules, but if you feel you need help, please contact and Admin and we would be more than happy to help guide you through the beginning steps. We enforce all the rules, so keep them in mind unless you want to get temporarily banned or kicked out for good. If you have absolutely any questions or concerns about any of the rules listed below, please don't hesitate to ask an Admin. Never be afraid to ask! That's what we're here for.

1] Be respectful!
* This is the golden rule of roleplaying, and the most important to us here at Omega Dawn. Show respect for your fellow roleplayers and their characters by treating them with the respect they all deserve, and you should recieve it in return. If you have a character that is less than friendly, no problem, but make sure that animosity stays IC. Don't be rude, and if you have an issue with someone, talk it out instead of attacking. After all, this IS just a game.
2] Be creative!
* While there is no specific post limit here at Omega Dawn, we pride ourselves in providing eachother with well thought out, creative posts. We are an intermediate to advanced roleplaying forum, and as such, your writing should reflect that. Not every reply will require a 5 paragraph spread, but lengthy posts make things more interesting. You can post as much as you feel necessary, but if you only give someone 3 sentences to answer too, they will hardly have enough to work with, so please keep that in mind while posting.
3] Be aware of your time!
* We know that real life takes precedence when it comes to posting, but if you know that you will be out of town for a week or two, don't take on a wholestack of new threads and let them sit while you are away. Know your limits and know your workload. There are times when things come up and we all have to abandon hobbies for a while, we know that and won't look down on you for it. But please keep us all informed so we know what to expect.
4] Be realistic!
* We know that Omega Dawn takes place in a futuristic setting, and therefore has a lot of leeway when it comes to technology/setting/environments/etc. But please be realistic when it comes to characters. Absolutely no powerplaying/godmodding will be allowed. No character can be shot out of an airlock and miraculously survive. A tiny, dainty female with hardly any muscle can't possibly lift and throw a 6'5" 250lb space thug across the room. Just keep it real, people.

1] Out of Character [OOC] Information
* We will absolutely not tolerate the use of OOC information IC. What does this mean exactly? This means that taking something a player knows and using it in character will not be allowed. For example: o Player A and Player B are having a thread. o Player A's character tells Player B's character a secret in said thread. o Player C reads thread. o Player C's character blackmails Play A's character with secret. * Without having actually been IN the thread and still using the information they read against another, Player C has committed a major sin of roleplaying. This will not be allowed and will result in punishment.
2] Sexual interactions
* While we encourage character interaction, there are minors who are able to access this site, and therefore we encourage you to keep sexual interactions CLEARLY LABELED AND MARKED. * Things that are okay without needing to be labled: o Kissing o Mild make-out sessions o Flirting * Things that are not okay and must be moved into a clearly marked thread: o Heavy-petting o Anything under the clothes o Sexual intercourse
3] Thread disputes
* The old "he said/she said". If you are having issues with a current thread you are in, we encourage you to take it up with the other parties involved before coming to an admin. If you feel you need a higher authority, please PM any admin with your questions and we will get back to you as soon as we can. * Thread disputes may have things including but not limited to: o Character death- You may not kill another person's character unless the issue has been previously discussed and both parties agree on such an action. However, if you are willingly putting your character into a dangerous situation, do be prepared for the consequences. o Character continuity- A character who broke a leg in thread two days earlier couldn't possibly outfight a trained militray captain. As a reminder, things that happen to a character stay with the character. Don't go changing something just to better suit your character. o Powerplaying- As stated before, this will absolutely not be tolerated. Everyone has flaws, and bad things happen to everyone. Don't go changing things in the scene or ignoring others just because it will help you win a fight/get the girl/etc.
