Character Rules

When creating a character for the world of Omega Dawn, the administration staff would like for you to keep a few things in mind while you are writing/retrofitting a character for our story. While we accept many unique and different types of characters, we would like to remind you that we still have rules and specifications for every character type. Please read below to see what's allowed and what's unacceptable for characters.


We understand that people like to take creative liberties with their characters, and we at Omega Dawn don't wish to stifle and anything that doesn't fit into the setting could cause problems for other players. If you have any questions on a specific trait or aspect of your character that may conflict with one of the rules below, please contact an admin. Don't be shy! We will discuss it with you and try and work out a compromise.

The No-No's

1] No fandoms!

* After much consideration, the staff here at Omega Dawn have decided that we will not be allowing fandom characters on this board.
* "What does that mean?" I'm glad you asked.We have decided that Omega Dawn shall remain an original character roleplay forum. That means that no characters that have been crossed-over from another universe will be accepted. This includes but is not limited to:
o Gundam
o Cowboy Bebop
o Star Trek
o Star Wars
o Others
* We apologize if this ruffles any feathers, but we want to keep our characters as original as possible. This does not, however, mean that you can not include characters that you may previously have played on a fandom board. You must, modify your character to fit into our story. This means your Gundam fighter may have a job as a rogue dog-fighter. Or perhaps your Cowboy Bebop-inspired character is just a simple bounty hunter. Maybe your Jedi was genetically engineered to have telekinesis. It's not impossible to do, but we ask for your cooperation.

2] No magic!

* Omega Dawn takes place in the future of Earth's lifetime where civilization lives in a far off galaxy with thousands of years of Earth's history lost. This is not a fantasy roleplay where things like wizards, magical items/powers, or witches will be allowed.
* EXCEPTIONS: While we enforce our rules, some exceptions will be made if approved by an Admin.After all,our story does take place in the future, and certain scientific breakthroughs have occurred. Some things that will be considered are telekinesis, telepathy, healing abilities, superhuman strength/speed. If you would like to include about a power/ability that is not listed here, please contact an admin for approval.

3] No unapproved races!

* There are a specific set of races allowed in the Omega Dawn galaxy, all of which are explained in [[THE RACES]]. Because the primary race of Omega Dawn is human, the majority of the characters will be humans to fit with the story. There are no immortals, but a few races do live much longer than others. If you would like to try an incorporate a new race into Omega Dawn, please contact an admin to discuss the possibility.
