The Races

Here at Omega Dawn we offer a variety of playable races for you to choose from when creating a character to fit into our environment. Below you will find the races, with a little bit of information about them (their appearance, strengths, weaknesses, etc.)

THESE ARE THE ONLY RACES ALLOWED FOR PLAY UNLESS DISCUSSED WITH AN ADMIN OTHERWISE.

Humans: The Dominant Ones

Names: Humans, Pinks (slang)

Lifespans: Anywhere from 60-100 years (exceptions may vary)

Physical Characteristics:

* Height: Ranging from 4'6"-6'7" (exceptions may vary)
* Weight: Ranging from 85-350lb (exceptions may very)
* Skin Color: Many shades of fleshy pink, though shades of tan, olive, and dark brown are often seen
* Hair Color: Natural colors include reds, browns, blondes, and blacks, but dyes are often used to tint hair to any color of the spectrum
* Eyes: White sclera (whites of eyes), colored iris (mostly greens, blues, and browns, though genetic modification makes it possible for any color as an aesthetic choice), and round black pupil

Homeworld: New Aequitas (originally Old Earth)

Strengths: Highly adaptable to new environments, modifiable DNA and genes make them ideal for genetic modification and cybernetic implants. Dominant species in Omega Dawn, therefore holds more rights and power than the other races.

Weaknesses: Seen by the minorities as "arrogant, stuck up, righteous pricks" who came in and stole power from the others. Relatively slow and weak, comparatively.

Story: Though the dominant race now, humans weren't always the ones in charge of Omega Dawn. Their existence in the galaxy is still somewhat a mystery of how they came to end up on New Aequitas. After a long millennium of a power hungry monarchy, it didn't take long for them to assume (and keep) power in the galaxy. By far the most populous of all races, they now take up residence on all four planets of Omega Dawn with their homeworld being New Aequitas. Not the most physically powerful, humans definitely hold the most political power in the system.

Androids: The Created Ones

Names: Androids, 'Droids, Cypunk (slang)

Lifespans: Ranging anywhere from 30-75 years, and depends on the quality of upkeep on parts, data, etc.

Physical Characteristics:

* Height: Ranging from 4'6"-6'7" (exceptions may vary)
* Weight: 300-500lbs (appears like a normal human, but the mechanical body weighs almost 3x as much)
* Skin Color: Many shades of fleshy pink, though shades of tan, olive, and dark brown are often seen, but the skin is cold to the touch
* Hair Color: Natural colors include reds, browns, blondes, and blacks, but dyes are often used to tint hair to any color of the spectrum
* Eyes: White sclera (whites of eyes), colored iris (every color available, depends on model's choice), square black iris with a model number imprinted on it (distinguishable feature)

Homeworld: Originated on New Aequitas, now live on every planet

Strengths: Extremely resilient bodies that can tolerate extreme cold and heat, super-human strength, ideal for heavy labor or security

Weaknesses: Constant upkeep, maintenance, and replacement of parts is needed to keep them functioning properly. Some discrimination between the other races an Androids, especially with the Hanoidians, as they see them as inferior machines and not real beings.

Story: The beginning of the Androids started when the power hungry humans arrived at Omega Dawn. Although originally created as mindless puppets for the monarchy to control and use, their purpose now if much different. Androids are not AIs or computerized minds, they are human minds in mechanical bodies. Usually victims of horrific accidents or coma patients where the minds of a human are active in a vegetable body, the patient's mind is transplanted into an Android body and can become fully functional again. Though many humans have willingly abandoned their long-living human flesh bodies in return for a shorter lifespan but greater strength.

PLEASE NOTE: Humans with cybernetic limbs are NOT considered Androids (i.e. replacement arm, leg, etc). Only humans who have had their brains transplanted into a fully Android body is considered an Android.

The Hanoidians: The Old Monarchy

Names: Hanoidians, Grays (slang)

Lifespans: Ranging anywhere from 150-300 years, ages slower than humans

Physical Characteristics:

* Height: On average taller than humans, with females being taller than males, ranging from 5'8"-7'0"
* Weight: 150-250lbs, bodies are thin with long, thin limbs
* Skin Color: Various shades of gray ranging from almost white to almost ebony
* Hair Color: The most common colors include bright variations of red, orange, and yellow, but colors such as white and dark gray are also seen; dyes allow for almost any color of the spectrum
* Eyes: Yellow sclera (whites of eyes), and irises of every color, cat-like slitted pupil

Homeworld: Hanoid Prime

Strengths: Extremely agile and quick, exceptional acrobats both in ships and on foot and are ideal pilots for transporting contraband cargo without letting the government know of it

Weaknesses: No longer in power of Omega Dawn, considered a "minority" despite their numbers, odd and unique features make them easily recognizable

Story: Hanoid Prime had once been the ideal portrait of power until the humans moved in on their territories. A thousand years have passed, and the Hanoidians now find themselves on the short end of the bargain, picking the leftovers off the table of the human monarchy. The are a society steeped in rich culture, but feel that the human invasion has caused the Hanoidian pride to dwindle. A very proud race, many of the Hanoidians (especially those on Roh) find that they are willing to set aside their pride just long enough to get the job done... especially if the job is in their ultimate favor.
